
Big Pine & The Pitchtones are a genre-defying acoustic band known for
their humor, musicianship and powerful vocal harmonies. A typical performance
includes Cowboy, Western Swing, Folk, Bluegrass and Rock. These high energy
players can really connect with an audience at a private party, wedding, or on a
festival stage.
Gary “Booker” Bowne started performing live music in
Bend in 1975 with his popular country-rock band, Loose in the Saddle. He has
more recently performed on the Crooked River Dinner Train and at the Sister’s
Folk Festival. You may also know Gary as a theatre artist who graced local
stages from COCC to CTC for over 35 years. He now teaches drama and roots music
for the Americana Project at Sisters High School.

Erwert started playing guitar as a young man swept up in the Bluegrass craze of
the 70’s. As a member of the seminal bluegrass band “Briar Rose”: he toured
throughout the northwest. Now in Bend, he is also considered one of the best
banjo pickers around.
Tommy “Leroy” Freedman has been a professional
musician in Portland and Bend for 25 years, playing an eclectic mix of Jazz,
Blues, Bluegrass, Klezmer, Fusion and World Beat. He has performed at numerous
festivals including Seattle’s Bumpershoot and Folklife, Portland Bite, Bend’s
Fall and Summerfest mainstage, and the Sisters Folk Festival. His playing
reflects his lifelong passion for music of diverse genres.
